2017 Mustang Mare

Bonnie is a resilient mustang mare and a cherished member of Stark’s family band. She is also the devoted mother of our colt, Ghost, her steady presence and quiet strength shaping the heart of their little herd.

Bonnie comes from the same heartbreaking situation as Stark and the rest of their band. They had been part of an online “rescue” from a kill lot, but after being marked “safe,” the entire family was shuffled from place to place before being abandoned at a quarantine facility where they were not being fed. By the time we found them, they were extremely emaciated, malnourished, and fighting simply to survive.

For months, we ensured the band received feed and wellness checks while tirelessly searching for other placement options. When it became clear that no safe alternative existed, we brought the whole family to our South location, where they now have a permanent home and will never be passed along again.

Bonnie carries the softness and vigilance of a mare who has endured hardship but never stopped protecting her young. Though still cautious, she watches every moment with intelligent eyes, and we’re beginning to see the earliest hints of trust emerge.

Now, surrounded by safety, stability, and her family, Bonnie can finally begin her journey from survival to healing. We’re honored to give her the peaceful life she deserves.
