Eden
2014 Mustang Mare
Eden’s journey to the sanctuary is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Found at a crowded auction, she was a horse whose silent suffering had been ignored or worse, intentionally hidden.
Eden arrived with a history of broken promises. She had been sold under false pretenses, and when her injury became impossible to hide, she was simply dumped into the auction circuit. When we found her there, we suspected the worst, and radiographs confirmed it: four fractured vertebrae in her withers.
In the wrong hands, Eden would have been labeled "difficult" or "stubborn." She would have been punished for reacting to the excruciating pain of a saddle and rider. But we don't see a "bitchy mare", we see a brave communicator who refused to shut down.
At our sanctuary, Eden’s value is no longer measured by what she can do for humans, but simply by who she is.
Since arriving, Eden has revealed a playful, sweet side. She has a deep, almost comical obsession with water.Despite everything she has endured, she remains incredibly curious and gentle.
Eden will never have to worry about a saddle or a dishonest seller again. She is here to heal, to play in the water, and to live out her days in peace.
Eden’s happy ending was only possible because our community saw her worth when others didn't. She is finally home.
Eden currently has no monthly sponsors.
