2017 Mustang Gelding

Hops was an unexpected but very welcome addition to our most recent rescue. Discovered in a kill lot and in urgent need of a safe landing, he quite literally hitched a ride with the mustang family we were bringing home. Once we heard about him, we made sure there was room on the trailer headed to our South Carolina farm.

Although his arrival came with a rocky start (he and the mustang family didn’t quite see eye-to-eye at first), Hops quickly began to settle in. He’s since found his place with a new circle of friends, Opal, Nimbus, Sid, and Brother, who have embraced him wholeheartedly.

Unlike many of our residents who arrive untouched or unstarted, Hops came to us already broke to ride, carrying a quiet confidence and a willingness to connect. We’re honored to give him the second chance he deserves and can’t wait to see who he becomes as he continues to decompress, heal, and grow with the herd.
